R.I.P. Steve Jobs... My Thoughts
I know this is a filmmaker blog and this is slightly off target, but the impact of Steve Jobs and Apple is significant to me and the world of filmmaking.
I think he is a true visionary in business. The way he mixed business and the arts is very inspiring. I personally don't like the idea of a regular 9 to 5 job, being pissed off because you don't like your job and thinking your job is just any means of getting by. What Jobs done, especially with Apple retail stores and with Pixar studios, is that he revolutionised the way we work. It can be all fun and chilled, whilst meeting your targets and deadlines. For me this is the type of work ethic I would like to incorporate into my future business and I like to thank Steve Jobs for that inspiration.
The Apple keynotes wouldn't be the same again, the aura Jobs gives while giving out his speech on the new iPhone, or iMac.
I hope Apple Inc will continue to make excellent products. I just really hope they fix up Final Cut Pro X, because I don't want them to loose the professional fan base they have secured in the last decade.
But until next time... I will keep posted on "Emergency Exits".
P.S. I remember watching this when the second generation iPhone came out. Very inspirational stuff.
